Slow Food UW at the Farmers’ Market

Hi everyone,

One of our biggest events of the year is coming up this weekend!  On Saturday, March 7th, Slow Food UW is cooking breakfast at the Dane County Farmers’ Market.

Come out to support us, and at the same time, get a great meal, pick up some fresh local produce, and enjoy the music and festivity of the market.

In case you don’t know, the winter farmers’ market is inside the Senior Center next to the Capitol Center Foods at 330 W. Mifflin Street (map).  Along with the vendors selling delicious meats, cheeses, eggs, breads, honey, vegetables, and fruits, the farmers’ market offers a breakfast made almost entirely from food being sold at the market – about as local as possible.
This weekend, Seth Erling, (my brother), from the Madison Club, will be the guest chef, and the students of Slow Food UW will cook up a meal celebrating the cultural and agricultural traditions of our German sister city – Freiburg. 828It’s going to be delicious, and it’s a great deal – only $7.50 for a big plate of food, coffee, and juice.  Profits help support the farmers’ market, so that we will be able to enjoy this cultural tradition long into the future.

Saturday, March 7th
8:30 – 11:00 am, or until we run out of food

I hope to see you there!
